The PIET Central Library came into existence in 2006. The seating capacity of the PIET Central Library is around 270 seats. The Library has a rich collection of 58,000+ books and also received around 140 printed national and international Journals and subscribed 21 Magazines and 11 Newspapers. Library has used DDC (Dewey decimal classification) system for the collection arrangement.
Library has subscribed to CMIE-Economic Outlook online database, IEEE, Springer Nature World e-Book Library. In addition, 18310 video Lectures of IITs through National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning are also accessible over Campus Wide Network. Library is member of DELNET (Developing Library Network) and NDLI (National Digital Library of India).
The Library has always been in forefront in the application of latest information and communication technology. In-House facilities of library are automated using KOHA Library Management Software (LMS). Library maintain digital repository of newspaper clippings and question bank. IP based access to subscribed digital resources has been provided. The library provides the facility of detect and check plagiarism by using “Turnitin” – An anti-plagiarism Software.
The Library has an Internet Lab for students, research scholars and faculty members. In 2022, library recorded 9041 average visitors per month. During this period total issue for home lending were 21000+ books and total 5,000+ books per month were consulted by the members of the library.
